Have you ever met someone you wanted to help but they wouldn’t allow you? They constantly complain about what it is they’re going through, however when a solution is created they run. It’s alllllmost as if they enjoy complaining.
While I believe that to be true in most instances, sometimes I have to take a step back and realize I cannot help everyone. Sometimes a complaint isn’t just word vomit; it is a cry for help. And if I cannot make the list of ones they want helping them, I must still be supportive until they get the proper help.
Welllll that day has come in the life of a friend of mine! It’s been about 4 years of me listening to her ‘complain’ and 3 weeks of me seeing her interaction with another person to realize if me being the middle man gets her help, then I’m glad I wasn’t selfish enough to stop communication when I thought she was just in a funky way. Now she is happier. Healthier. Smiling. Falling back in love with herself. THAT was our goal- not recognition of who helped her.
