“Time flies whether you’re having fun or not.”
-Author Unknown to Me
Hello. It’s 11:51 pm my time and the very first year anniversary of this blog!!! I woke up supppper excited (still am) but somehow along the way got caught up in that perfectionist mode and tried doing way too much with today.
All I need is ten minutes of your time:
When I was a kid, I learned to read and write. Then a couple of years later, I was in the kitchen learning how to do whatever was being done in there- setting the table, folding napkins, cooking. It didn’t matter. What mattered to me was that I was there. In the kitchen. With everyone…as long as I was in a kitchen I would see everyone: BINGO. So I stayed in there.
I won’t admit to being the most “by the book Chef” to ever exist, but I do know that I like books 🙂 I admire everyone for who they are and cannot forget that I feel I am a writer as much as I am geared towards cooking.
See, the very first time I ever recall standing up for myself was when I walked up to my parents and told them, “I’m ready to read.” It was waaaay after they had started trying to teach me, but their smiles were still the same when I told them I was ready.
The next time I stood up for myself was in the name of food. I told my parents I did not want to eat those vegetables, so one of them mentioned me cooking. The very next day there was a table set and breakfast served of the family’s favorites… I’m pretty sure it’s why I love grits to this day. *Featured Item, ha!*
Fast forward to today: I’m a personal chef and a writer. I used to worry- thinking every other blog should have a recipe or some type of culinary measurement to balance all the writing out. However I know why I started this, and it has everything and nothing to do with food. My blog is me! Smitten with everything I do, or not to be done at all.
I Believe My Change Has Come!
